I used to dread extended generation family sessions. The pressure of capturing such a large group of people brought me back to my wedding photography days. I had given that up for a reason hadn't I? However, lately I have grown to LOVE large family photo sessions. There is just so much genuine and authentic connection between the generations of families.
By adapting to a structure of photos that is less posed and more about going with the flow and allowing the families to move and open up at their own pace, I have found a joy in capturing these families and the dynamics they bring to the session. Bring on all the large families!
